What To Expect During A Massage?
Here is a list of suggestions that may help to make things better in preparation for massage in your home:
We will need a quiet area with a large open floor space; Preferably a small comfortable room or bedroom where we can close the door. We will use the floor unless you have a massage table (I do not travel with one). The room should be able to lower shades to make it darker during daylight hours. Place any candles you would like in the room. Candles can be scented if you desire or we may use some incense. We will need 1 or 2 of your largest bath towels, 3 pillows and one sheet. Run towels and sheet in clothes dryer (if possible) before the visit so they are nice and warm. Have a hot shower or bath just before the session and wear no perfume or jewelry. Wear a bathrobe and slippers to keep warm after the shower, until the massage and don't do anything stressful. Use the bathroom (if needed) before starting the session. It is best not to eat one-hour prior to your session. I will bring massage oil to be used unless you prefer to use your own. Any favorite massage oils (or favorite massage tools/toys) can be placed into a small bag or box and simply left in the room. We will also need some relaxing background music. Please also remember to keep your cell phone turned off until the massage is over.
During an initial consultation you may be asked a number of questions regarding your health and medical history to be sure that you will be able to receive a massage treatment. You may also be asked to sign a consent form. Rest assured that information given is treated in the strictest confidence.
The massage will be given on a bed or on the floor covered with pillows. You will be asked to get completely undressed and nude during the treatment. Wearing underwear or anything else during the massage means that I wont be able to properly massage major muscles of the body that attach to the low back and spinal areas and you will be minimizing the effectivness of your massage. Ignoring that area and only focusing on the area around it means you will be ignoring many major muscles and is not good practice for a massage therapist.
Potential For Misunderstanding
A full and complete massage of either sex is not without the potential for misunderstandings. Unlike spa or beauty massage a sensual erotic massage allows full access to all areas of the body. Spa and beauty massage therapists are trained to maintain their clients modesty by keeping areas not being worked on covered at all times, some refusing to massage males between navel and knee. The areas usually covered up are, of course, the male genitals and female breasts and pubis. These areas are neglected in the interest of avoiding giving offence and unfortunately leaving the client without ever having received the full potential of the massage.
The Massage
The course of a full massage, as I do it, starts on the back with the shoulders and shoulder blades. I then work along each side of the spine and down to the sacrum, buttocks including the sphincter and hip joints as they like to call the pelvic girdle. Onto the back of the thighs the crease deep inside of the upper thighs and lower buttocks, then calves and feet to finish. During the course of the massage mutual participation is also acceptable and encouraged. On the front I start on the arms and hands moving on to the neck, upper shoulders and collar bone next onto the upper torso with strokes to the breasts, nipples and chest muscles and detail work around the abdominal cavity, abdominal muscles and pubis there are also a large number of lymph nodes in the lower abdomen, each side of the pubis in the inguinal area the crease across the tops of your legs and high in the inner thighs. These are massaged by strokes that travel from just above the inside of the knee up the inner thigh, along the crease and up each side of the pubis onto the center abdomen I then will do your feet working up to calves and outer and inner adductor muscles in the thighs and finishing with detailed massaging to the pubis and vaginal region (the Yoni massage technique). The face is optional. Lymphatic drainage strokes are blended amongst the general muscle strokes.
The Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system aids the immune system in destroying pathogens and filtering waste so that the lymph can be safely returned to the circulatory system. The lymphatic system removes excess fluid, waste, debris, dead blood cells, pathogens, cancer cells, and toxins from these cells and the tissue spaces between them. The lymphatic system also works with the circulatory system to deliver nutrients, oxygen, and hormones from the blood to the cells that make up the tissues of the body. As it travels through the body, lymph passes through lymph nodes where it is filtered. At the base of the neck, the lymph enters the subclavian veins and once again becomes plasma in the bloodstream. There are between 600-700 lymph nodes present in the average human body.
Areas Of Concern
The strokes likely to cause concern are those that address the pelvic girdle, the lower abdomen, the pubis and vagina, the inner thighs and the buttocks, and the breasts for women. These areas are massaged with great care.
The Pelvic Girdle
The pelvic girdle has numerous muscle attachments front, back, top and bottom. most are involved in balance and motion. All the major upper leg muscles attach somewhere at the pelvic girdle with many deep in the groin. others attach on the hip or cross from the lower spine, sacrum and coccyx to the hip joint and thigh. Some originate at the bottom edge of the pubic bone and the ischium (the boney bit you sit on). Back muscles attach at the pelvic crest and the spine or sacrum. The large muscles forming the buttocks stretch from the sacrum, coccyx and upper edges of the pelvis to the thigh and hip joint. Adductor muscles attach deep under the pelvis and stretch down the inner thigh. Quadraceps and hamstrings attach to the pelvic crest. On the lower abdomen stomach muscles attach to the top of the pubic bone while other muscles join the upper edges of the pelvis. Lymph nodes exist all around the pubic bone and inguinal area (the crease across the tops of your legs).
Lower Abdomen
The muscles in the abdomen stretch from the breastbone to the pubic bone and mainly comprise a number of smaller horizontal muscles (including the six-pack) and connecting tissue. Massaging occurs along the course of the colon, around the edges of the abdominal cavity and across the abdominals from the top of the pubic bone up to the bottom of the ribcage.
Pubis And Groin
The abdominal muscles attach to the top edge of the pubic bone while adductor muscles (inner thigh) attach to the bottom, front and crest. There are also a large number of lymph nodes in the lower abdomen, each side of the pubis in the inguinal area and high on the inner thighs. These are massaged by strokes that travel from just above the inside of the knee up the inner thigh, into the inguinal crease and up each side of the pubis onto the central abdomen. These strokes can feel very invasive (although they also feel very good) as work is alongside and on the labia the clitoris and inside the vagina on a woman.
Yoni Massage
Yoni is the Sanskrit word for the vagina that is loosely translated as "sacred space" or "Sacred Temple." In Tantra, the Yoni is seen from a perspective of love and respect. Before beginning the Yoni Massage it is important to create a space for the woman (the receiver) in which to relax, from which she can more easily enter a state of high arousal and experience great pleasure from her Yoni. The Yoni Massage can also be used as a form of "safe sex" and is an excellent activity to build trust and intimacy. The goal of the Yoni massage is not solely to achieve orgasm, although orgasm is often a pleasant and welcome side effect. The goal can be as simple as to pleasure and massage the Yoni. When orgasm does occur it is usually more expanded, more intense and more satisfying. Effects of the vaginal massage: Releases emotional tensions and stress - Reduces menstrual pain - Eliminates pain when having intercourse - Increased sensitivity in the vagina - Increased lubrication when sexually aroused - Opens up to new levels of ecstatic pleasure - More powerful orgasms and easier obtained - Eliminates emotional blockages in relation to sex.
Inner Thighs
The tops of the legs, front and back, are treated with longer strokes originating just above the knee and travelling all the way up into the groin or onto the hip. Some strokes involve either a squeezing of the thigh muscles along the full length or a wringing action with hands working from both sides up and down between knee and groin. The hand on the inner thigh will, at times, be very close to and possibly touching the genitals when in the groin as adductor muscles attach to the bottom edge of the pubic bone and the ischium.
Buttocks
Strokes associated with the buttocks can go partially between the cheeks or into the perineum (the area between the genitals and anus) and the sphincter as it is rich in nerve endings and shares the same nerve as the vulva and clitoris. The first are small circular movements covering the whole of each cheek in turn. conventionally these stop about two thirds the way down but, this misses out the area below the cheeks where a number of inner thigh muscles attach to the ischium. The other is a squeezing movement that starts above the back of the knee and continues all the way to the top of the buttock with the outside edge of one hand partially between the cheeks.
Breasts
The breasts are rarely massaged in a spa or beauty setting and therefore almost always neglected. There are numerous lymph nodes around and on the nipples, between and around the breasts, strokes are usually restricted to a gentle kneading around the outer edges from the sides and between them over the breastbone and inner ends of ribs. Pectoral muscles run under the breast tissue and attach to the breastbone and ribs and are usually only accessed between the breasts and under the outside edges while being held to one side.
